The adverts displayed on this website are for 'Property wanted'. Anyone looking for property to buy or rent anywhere in the UK can list in detail exactly what they are looking for (location, property type, price, etc etc) and post this information on the internet.

Owners and agents with property matching your requirements can see your listing and reply even before the property is advertised, so go ahead, place a listing and bring your ideal property to your desktop!

Replies come via a secure e-mail system. Your contact details are not displayed on the Internet - you decide whether the property on offer is what you are looking for and if you want to get in touch.

Posting your 'Property wanted' listing on the Property to You website is entirely free of charge - and contacting owners/landlords directly has the potential for considerable cost savings all round!

We alert estate agents and private sellers registered with us in your chosen area when your listing appears.

Automatic full UK postal area search

When a 'Property wanted' listing is first placed on Property to You, we conduct a full search for matching properties in your selected postal areas and email you a link to results for properties that most closely match your requirements. So you can start making a shortlist straightaway!

Even better - the link we send you is 'live'. This means that the list you see is always up-to-date and you can check at anytime to see if new property has been added.

Remember - you are always in control. No one replying to your listing can see your contact details. You decide whether to contact the owner or agent for any property that you are offered.

How to:

1. Post a new listing for 'Property wanted'

Click on any 'Add new 'Property wanted' listing' link on the Property to You homepage. If you have not already registered, you will be asked to register. When registering you can choose if you want to receive email alerts when other people post listings in your chosen area(s).

From the UK map, choose the region and then county/area in which you want your listing to appear. A pro forma will open which allows you to list your requirements in detail.

When you are ready you can preview and post your listing. You will receive replies through a secure e-mail system which allows you to look at the details of the property on offer and to contact the owner/agent if you're interested in learning more or arranging a viewing. Your contact details are not visible on your listing and you remain in control at all times.

2. View 'Property wanted' listings and reply

Click on one of the 'View property wanted listings' links on the homepage. Select the area that you want to browse from the map, and then the city/county. The numbers in brackets tell you how many current listings there are for that area.

The city/county link opens a list of thumbnails for the available listings. Click on any of these to see full details of property required. You must open the full listing before you can reply.

Reply to listing

If you have property available that matches a listing and you want to reply, click the 'Reply' button at the bottom of the page. This will open a pro forma that allows you upload details of the property that you have available (including photographs if you wish).You can preview your reply before it is sent. When you click 'send', an e-mail is sent to the person who placed the listing, giving them a link to the details of your property. The information will include your contact details.

If the person who placed the original listing is interested in the property, they will contact you. You will then be able to talk to them directly. It is up to the person posting the listing to decide whether to make contact or not.

'One click response'

If full details of the property (including contact details) are on an estate agent or other website, then you can save time by using our 'One click response' option. Paste the address line for the webpage on which your property is described into the 'One click response' box and click 'Send'.

The link is sent to the person who posted the listing. If your property is advertised with an estate or letting agent you can use the details on their website, or you can ask the agent to do this on your behalf.

No HIPS required!

If you are providing details of a property which is not yet on the market, and has not been advertised elsewhere, then no HIP (Home Information Pack) is required! However, if you are contacted in response to your reply and a viewing is arranged, you should by law have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) available.

3. Register for e-mail alerts

Want to keep up-to-date with new 'Property wanted listings in your area? Register with Property to You and select select this option. You don't have to be actively looking for property. Choose areas and types of property for which you will receive an alert.

4. Make your own search
